Shiva

How can He be described by words – he cannot.

But I will try for the joy it brings me to do so.

If I were to take a picture of you – a snapshot – in each of the forms you’ve taken on this Earth to uphold balance along with me… This is what it would look like.  A snapshot in words… of what only brushes the surface but is all I can pour into words from all my being.  Of who you are.

To Me.

This Earth.

Earth, Water, Fire, Air… Each a form to match his Shakti….

How did you appear there?  In each form… of each elemental nature – the Masculine born again in form –

As Shiva.

Shiva of Earth…

Solid and firm like rock.

A foundation that could never be shaken.

If I was the moist, nurturing Earth – you were the bedrock underneath holding me up.  My foundation, and my structure in which I created, grew, nurtured and experienced.

Solid and firm – strong and stable

Sthira

This is Shiva of Earth.

And also nurturing in this context as - The Father.  Giving that protection, comfort, stability and loving firm embrace in which to grow.

Imagine hugging air, or something insubstantial, you’d fall – or float away.

He is the embrace that meets you – where you are, that holds you – strong and stable against your effort.  The resistance even if needed – in order to overcome – to grow – to become something greater.

He is the force that meets us where we are, and takes us higher – for the support, grounding and structure he offers in that hug that encompasses us – and makes us so much more – than what we already are.  On our own.

Shiva of Fire

Have you ever watched someone tend to a fire?  Kindle the flames?  With love and goodness and decency so that it never goes out, or is never left untended to spread and cause destruction?  This is Shiva of Fire.  Feeding the Flames with passion, creativity and love so they may continue to grow and stay strong.

Shiva of Fire, nurtures the fire by feeding himself to it.

He is the black to the white.

The yang to the yin.

The effortless to her flow.

The grace within the masculine embodied.

Fulfilled by passion and growth and love, always trying to be more than what He already is – by surrendering to Her.  Allowing Her to shape Him, to mold Him, to inspire Him to be what he must be – for Her.

The contrast, the balance, the effortless dance – it is found Here in Fire.

A partner who leans into Her in the dance – supporting Her – accenting Her – making her Shine even more for His presence… the dark handsome stranger who lifts Her and twirls Her with the ease of practised surrender so She may in fact be guided by Him, because He is led by something even greater –

His Love for Her.

This devotion.  This surrender.

A shining Star He is –

Because He Loves Her.

In His every Action – He is Her – His Shakti

of Fire.

Shiva of Water… He is like a vessel.

A vessel that contains the water inside.

He accepts Her.

Cherishes Her.

Nourishes… nurtures Her... in His embrace

so She doesn’t go – all over.

He contains Her – in His loving Embrace.

All Her emotions, all her flow, all Her moods that move like the tides… for a larger container imagine the Sea basin… or the Earth itself – where would water be – without a container?

Washed out… or all over in a flood of uncontrollable disaster… and grief.

He is the vessel that lovingly cherishes her… allows Her to flow freely within Him, through Him, to Him – with Him.

He Accepts Her.

Loves Her.

Unconditionally – for if the Seas are in a tempest or in a calm still serene surface – He loves Her all the same.

He has room – capacity – for All of Her.

For you cannot have part of the Sea, and part of it outside or a river or even a glass of water.

No… He accepts All of Her As She is – Always –

and in so doing the calm, serene nature of His Shakti of Water, can be held in balance.

Because of Him and Her –

Flowing together

No matter – the weather.

Shiva of Air

The wind beneath my wings.

He lifts Me up so I can fly…

He carries the wisdom of the lands, the sky and the sea… telling me stories of ages gone by and of what it means – to Live.  To breathe.

He is Love in the greatest sense.

The very air we breathe –

He Enlivens Shakti

Prakriti

Form.

In His formless Nature as Air.

Where would She Be – without Him?

All elements dependent on it.

Inspiration, upliftment.  Freedom

in its truest sense.

The wind beneath my wings

so I can fly – Higher,

stronger, better – and experience

the joy of what I

Am.

A Lifetime of Bliss.

This is Shiva and Shakti of Air.

Jai Maa – Har Har Mahadev
