Getting married?
Yes sweetheart.
You replied at my wonderings.
Me in my white dress, lounging on a reclining pouffe chair, typical of royalty at that time…
A royal house.
With you and I
But Om
And I swing around and look at you
Why?
The puzzlement on my face as I looked up into yours. You had to smile and kiss my nose before you could continue.
Because I love you Shanti.
You kiss me again,
and I blush first,
before the question returns to my face and the wrinkle between my brow as I peer up into your face… no distracting me Om, not fair! Slight pout which you kiss as well.
And you look into my worried eyes, one at a time, then both with your relaxed face and your love and patience. Open for me, always.
What is it Shanti… you whisper.
How can getting married make us something we already are?
And I look up into your eyes with my innocent question
and you take a step back and sit down.
Got you with a good one, Guruji in you, before he was created – came forward for that.
My inquisitiveness along with how much I wanted to know as you sat back and reflected on that.
It’ll make us more of what we already are…
Not less, I ask?
For having needed it in the first place?
You clap your hands and begin to stare out at the water afar.
The troubled look entering yours as well.
Why do we need something to make us more of what we already are?
I ask again
Shanti… exasperated sigh and you walk a few paces away.
Why Om?
And your face looked pained as you looked back at me
You remember the old days…
of Divine Love and mating of pairs, of duality into Oneness…
But the world has fallen baby
and you take my hands… both in yours, kneeling before me.
They need a King, Shanti and if you don’t marry me, they won’t accept me.
But since when do we care about what people think?
And I look into your eyes again.
You look down at my hands and back up into my eyes.
I want to be… your husband.
Forever Shanti.
I want to make a vow of love with you – for all eternity.
In front of everyone.
Will you take it with me?
I pause, smile, nod…
Smile grows as I say
That I can do Om…
I want to spend Forever
With Only
You. – Shakti.
The day of the wedding… was perfection
As if all the Gods showered their blessing on us… with clear blue skies…
Not a cloud in the sky.
Sun shining, mild breeze blowing…
The angels trumpeting in the sky…
Today is the day
Om weds Shanti
I wore a white dress, that cascaded down my frame, with swirls and twirls and bunches, flattering every curve and angle of my body… with the fabrics flowing as if from Me.
You in the regal dress of the King…
Also, in white that day with gold glittering from you – the jewellery worn by A King…
In white we stood together,
on the rock where all ceremonies and deliverances were held…
A rock protruding in the middle of the Sea… not far from the cliffs and sea side of the land.
Where Earth, Air and Sea meet.
All of our Kingdoms united as One to witness our Love.
As you held my hand… and the birds held the swirling veils of fabric behind me…
the dolphins jumped over us and the one-horned seals trumpeted them in the air,
the Eagles… came flying
The Royalty of all the 3 kingdoms present with us… our friends and family nearby hovering on neighbouring formations, or by the cliffside next to the sea…
The whales singing their songs
The butterflies twirling in the skies with their beautiful colours…
But for me,
all I could see
all I could feel
despite the wind blowing my hair wildly and the spray of the sea
All I could see was You and Me.
And the Lions came from afar and began to roar, and my eyes widened, and your tongue stuck out just a little
All of you –
And all of Me.
JAI MA BHAVANI
We held hands as the swans twirled around us
and the climax of
Wind, land, sea and fire within, and beaming as both Sun and Moon from within us – this radiance that filled the Seas
and in a moment – all was silent as the Great Tortoise came…
The Old One
to witness our Love.
The Priest… of the Sea… the Sky and the Land
although the Sea was his natural resting place…
Wherever he went… there was
Harmony
Approaching, all became Silent,
Respectfully
As you held my hands with this light in your eyes
On this day,
You say loudly
I take you,
Shanti
to be my wedded wife
whom I shall Love,
Treasure and Protect
for all of the rest of my days – from now until Eternity.
Let this be our Forever After
in body, mind and soul,
My wife you shall always be. – Om
And I cry and laugh not knowing who or what I am except for the mere fact
that I am your Shakti
I take you
Om,
I yell over the Sea
to Have and to Hold,
to Protect and to Treasure,
and above all,
to Love with all my body, mind and soul – for all of Eternity
My husband you shall be.
- Shanti
And the Seas, the Land, the Skies erupted as we stood in the centre of it all – United
in holy matrimony
tied together as One
with the power of our vow and our Love
Shiva
and
Shakti.
